Known as the McFlurry spoon, this design had a functional purpose rather than an aesthetic one.
square pointThis spoon, hollow and hook-shaped, made mixing ice cream much easier for McDonald’s employees. The answer to why the spoon handle is empty depends on how McFlurry is prepared.
McFlurryis basically McDonald’s ice cream. The ice cream is placed in a mixer machine and selected toppings are added. At this point the McFlurry spoon plays an important role: the handle of the spoon is designed to fit tightly into the stirrer. Employees push the spoon into the machine and as the spoon rotates, the ingredients are evenly mixed into the ice cream.
In this clever spoon design, each ingredient is mixed homogeneously.
In addition, this spoon ensures ease of use and increases process efficiency. Also a hygienic solution offers. However, this iconic spoon, identified with McDonald’s, unfortunately no longer exists today.
