The Witcher IV trailer impresses and moves with GeForce RTX 50

CD Projekt RED used The Game Awards 2024 to present the first trailer for The Witcher IV, a video lasting more than six minutes that confirms many important clues about this new installment of the famous franchise from the Polish studio, and which also has the peculiarity of being rendered on a graphics card GeForce RTX 50. Model not specified, but most likely GeForce RTX 5090.

The video opens with a rather harsh scene in which the entire village is willing to offer a young woman as a sacrifice to the monster, as that is the tradition. A wizard appears on the scene with the intention of saving her, and we soon find out It’s not about Geralt, it’s about Ciri, his adopted daughter who has decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and who certainly has an imposing presence in this video.

In The Witcher IV, we have a change of protagonist, but be careful, because this does not mean that we cannot encounter levels in which we have to play with Geralt. In the continuation of the video, the girl decides to accept her fate and face a horrible death, but Ciri saves her and faces the spider monster, who offers a tough fight. He successfully emerges from it, and when he returns to the village with his head, he discovers that hethe villagers killed the girl he saved.

“It’s a tradition for the gods,” snapped the villager, demonstrating what The Witcher III told us in one of his most iconic films. that the worst monsters are humans themselves. Nothing innovative in that sense, since it is a reinterpretation of what we saw in the previous installment, but the trailer is spectacular and the level of graphic quality it shows is bordering on high.

With her career and the teachers she’s had, Ciri has what it takes to be one of the most powerful witches, and I’m convinced that in The Witcher IV We will see a spectacular development of this character.

Skipping to the technical level, The Witcher IV has everything that defines the next generation of triple A gaming, even if it is something It is especially appreciated in small details. For example, look at the detail of the geometry on the feet of the girl who was meant to be the victim, the nails and even the knuckles are perfectly defined as she tenses them up to show fear.

We also have impressive detail in the faces of the characters and the level of detail of the various scenarios in which the trailer takes place. The generational jump compared to The Witcher III is noticeable even to the untrained eye and generally leaves a good taste in our mouths. Unfortunately, there is still a long way to go before this game hits the market, so We’ll have to wait a few years to enjoy it.
