Apple will stop selling iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone SE smartphones in Europe. The devices will be removed from the company’s online catalog and retail stores by December 28, but authorized retailers will be able to sell the devices while supplies last.


Apple is forced to take such a step in order not to violate the EU regulation, which states that all new smartphones with wired charging must use USB-C, and the three models mentioned above are the last in the Apple series with Lightning connectors. C, then sales of these devices in Europe are not threatened. In Switzerland and even earlier – until December 20.

Apple will also stop selling other Lightning devices. For example, the Magic Keyboard without Touch ID. Interestingly, even though the UK will leave the EU in 2020, Apple will discontinue its Lightning and Northern Ireland products.
