If you manage multiple Gmail accounts, you probably know this how important it is to be able to switch between them quickly and easily. Every day it is more common to find users who use multiple accounts to separate their activities: one for work, another for study, a third for shopping or even more personal. In my case, I’ve managed more than 10 email accounts at times, and in those circumstances, any enhancements aimed at facilitating these types of scenarios are like a bottle of cold water (without gas, of course) in the desert.
Google knows this and that’s why has started rolling out a new full-screen design for Gmail’s account switcherin order to improve the user experience. This change replaces the traditional drop-down menu that has been around for several years with a more visual interface that takes up the entire screen and makes it easier to identify available accounts. As we can read in Android Police, the first users who had access to the new design, the change is especially useful on mobile devices, where the limited space makes the new format much more convenient and accessible.
The new selector not only displays associated accounts more clearly, but It also simplifies the options for adding new accounts or logging out. This redesign is in line with other recent changes Google has made to make its services more accessible and consistent across platforms. While the change so far appears to be in the testing phase for a limited number of users, it is expected to arrive generally in the coming weeks, even though there is no official confirmation in this regard.

For users with multiple accounts, This new design could make a big difference and as it is in my case, the truth is that I am already waiting for it. The ability to switch between profiles more quickly and efficiently is especially crucial for those who depend on Gmail in their daily professional or academic lives. However, as with any interface change, we’ll have to see how users accept it once it’s released to the general public.
Maybe this redesign isn’t revolutionary, but it’s a reminder of something I usually mention on many occasions because I attach great importance to it. I am speaking clearly small adjustments like these can have a big impact in how we interact with the services that are most present in our daily lives. And there’s no doubt that Google has been focusing on these types of improvements for many years.
