The expanded voice mode in ChatGPT now also has video capabilities. The chatbot can analyze videos in real time, although not yet in Europe.
OpenAI is adding a new feature to Enhanced Voice Mode in ChatGPT just before the holidays. From now on, the chatbot can analyze not only audio, but also real-time videos. This function is already available for paying users. It is not yet clear when the rollout will take place for European users.
Real-time video
The function works like the audio assistant, but with video. In the following video shared on X, Kevin Weil, Product Lead OpenAI, demonstrates how this feature works. He introduces his colleagues in a live video on ChatGPT and then asks two questions: Who wore the reindeer antlers and who wore the Santa hat? ChatGPT was able to answer these questions live and correctly.
Not in Europe (yet).
Advanced Voice Mode Vision is only available to paying users with a Plus or Pro subscription. Enterprise and education customers will have to wait until next year. The rollout of this functionality to users in Europe has not yet been confirmed. According to OpenAI, this will be coming to Europe soon. When exactly that will be is not yet certain.
