Eurofiber enters into a strategic partnership with Quantum Bridge and Juniper Networks to better protect networks from future quantum cyber attacks. The focus of the collaboration is the integration of quantum-secure cryptography into Eurofiber’s infrastructure.

Eurofiber announces a new strategic partnership with Quantum Bridge, a Distributed Symmetric Key Establishment (DSKE) specialist, and network provider Juniper Networks. The aim of the collaboration is to integrate quantum-safe technologies into Eurofiber’s network solutions. The company is thus responding to the growing threat posed by quantum computers that can crack existing encryption methods.

Quantum secure communication and DSKE technology

Quantum computers promise enormous computing power, but also pose a risk to traditional asymmetric cryptography, which is currently widely used for data security. That’s why Eurofiber, together with Quantum Bridge and Juniper Networks, is focusing on post-quantum cryptography and DSKE technology. This technology automates the distribution of symmetric encryption keys without using vulnerable asymmetric cryptography.

Juniper Networks’ SRX firewalls are complemented by Quantum Bridge’s DSKE solution. This combination makes it possible to provide scalable, future-proof security without major changes to existing network infrastructure. This is particularly relevant for financial institutions and organizations that require multi-layered security.

“Working with Juniper Networks and Quantum Bridge strengthens our position in providing secure and reliable connectivity,” said Eric Kuisch, COO of Eurofiber. He points to the increasing threat of quantum computing and the need to respond to it in a timely manner.

Demonstration in the financial sector

At a recent central bank meeting in Rome, Eurofiber demonstrated the effectiveness of DSKE technology in combination with Juniper Networks firewalls. This demonstration showed how critical financial systems can be protected from attacks using quantum computers. Representatives of the G7 countries recognized the urgency of the transition to quantum-safe encryption.

According to Mattia Montagna, CEO of Quantum Bridge, it is important to take action now. “Quantum computers will soon be able to break existing cryptography. By integrating our technology into the Eurofiber and Juniper Networks infrastructure, we are providing solutions to tomorrow’s security challenges today.”

Melchior Aelmans, Chief Architect & Quantum Lead at Juniper Networks, also emphasizes the importance of thinking ahead. “Experts predict that quantum computers will be able to crack traditional encryption within five years. Our joint solution provides an easy-to-implement layer of security so organizations can protect their networks in a timely manner.”
