Fighter aircraft of the US Armed Forces. mistakenly shot down one of its fighters over the Red Sea in a “friendly fire” incident, Causing minor injuries to one of the plane’s two pilots, according to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
The damaged aircraft was Model of an F/A-18 aircraft taking off from the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, and that it was “fired upon and hit by mistake” by the guided-missile cruiser USS Gettysburg, part of the USS Harry S. Truman’s own strike group.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning, although CENTCOM He didn’t make it public until late that night.
