Taking advantage of the winter solstice and the beginning of a new lunar cycle, Google launched a Doodle in game format. And it’s great fun: It’s a card-format battle against the satellite, using the different phases of the moon as weapons. It’s perfect for passing the time without the need for downloads or complicated rules. Yes, a dose of strategy is needed.
Google often celebrates important dates, events, anniversaries or natural phenomena by replacing its usual logo with a much more artistic drawing. These personalized logos are called Doodles. And there are many: Google has a library containing all the works it has created throughout history. The current Doodle has gained significant ground.
The lunar cycle of December in an interesting card game
As is often the case with Google games for the browser, it doesn’t matter where you access the search engine’s homepage: the title can be played in the same way. Although the mechanics are simpler on mobile Touch screen makes it easy to insert each card into place. Portrait formatting also helps.
The game is kind of tic-tac-toe combined with poker rules. It’s like a limited Balatro inspired by the lunar cycle: Since we have more figures, we must place the cards in equal pairs of cards, with staircases and end points representing the movement of the moon. We will play against the moon.
It seems like a simple approach, and undoubtedly it is. The problem is that it becomes more complex as the stages pass: the game board grows and changes shape, and the difficulty also increases. And this requires double down on strategy and play assuming the card of the moon can be played. Doodle poses a big challenge.
Minimalistic graphics with an artistic touch, easy to learn and not so easy to master, perfect for hanging out and having fun without requiring any installation: To play the lunar cycle, just go to the Google home page. This is a very valuable Doodle. And although it will be available for a limited time, it will remain accessible forever via this link.
