One of the biggest benefits the Apple ecosystem has is AirDrop. This transfer system allows you to transfer videos, photos, files and all kinds of content from an iPhone to a Mac and vice versa without cables and in just a few seconds and to the Caesar, that is, to the Caesar, it works great. But if we talk about transferring a photo, video or file from iPhone to Windows PC, things become much more complicated. It’s not as easy as connecting iPhone to PC via USB, that’s all.
Microsoft has come up with a solution: a type of AirDrop that connects the iPhone and PC via Phone Link, which we already have on Android. Let’s go piece by piece.
drama. If we connect the iPhone to the PC to do something simple like taking a photo or video, the iPhone will ask us if we trust the PC, ask us to enter the PIN and finally connect. Once installed (and something that may take some time depending on the storage capacity of the iPhone), we will have to navigate through an endless number of automatically created folders sorted by days and, with a little luck, find the required folder. The photo we are looking for.
If we talk about file transfer, things are even more boring. Because? Because we either go through the cloud, through iTunes, or use a third-party tool, but sending us a PDF that’s in the downloads folder isn’t as easy as connecting the iPhone, going to “Downloads” and copying and pasting the file. file. On Mac, the experience is completely different thanks to AirDrop, but as we see on Windows, it is much more complex.

Solution. “Phone Connection” or “Mobile Connection”, formerly known as “Your Phone”. This application, among other things, allows us to control our mobile phone from the computer and now send files wirelessly from iPhone to PC. The requirements that must be met are:

How does it work? The truth is that Microsoft has made the system as simple as AirDrop. To send a file from your iPhone to your PC, simply open the sharing menu and select “Link to Windows.” The PC will appear there and we will have to click on it and accept the transfer. The process is similar in the other direction. Right-click on the computer, click “Share” and select “My Phone.”
Currently in testing. As Microsoft announced, this feature is slowly starting to roll out to Insiders, so it probably won’t be available to everyone who’s included in the program. Likewise, it can be expected to take some time to reach stable version users, which constitute the majority of Windows users.
