Vodafone continues to reconnect in the Kyiv region, including space technology. This time, thanks to Starlink, mobile services are available again in Plakhtyanka village of Bucha district and Borodyanka village.
More traditional technologies have made it possible to increase communication in other villages and towns in the same region, namely Bucha, Fasova, Maryanivka and Yurov. The company’s engineers have surveyed a number of sites and are preparing for further renovations in the area.
As it will be remembered, last week, for the first time in the history of Ukraine and one of the first in the world, the work of a part of the mobile operator network was organized with the help of Starlink satellite technologies. On April 1, Vodafone launched a base station in 2G and 4G configurations near Irpin and Romanivka, using SpaceX’s Starlink kit as a transport network at the station.
Connecting the site to satellite Internet allows you to ensure the smooth operation of the network section even in the absence of Internet access through a conventional underground transport network. Thanks to this scheme of work, you can quickly restore mobile communications in areas with damaged nodes.
