Earlier, in 2013, the company released a program that allows you to use a smartphone camera and augmented reality to see how different furniture will look in your room. The new Kreativ application allows you to delete existing interior items and replace them with selected ones from the catalog.

IKEA Kreativ was developed in Silicon Valley by Geomagical Labs, a company owned by the brand-owned Ingka Group. The tool will be available to iOS and laptop users in the United States starting June 22. A version for Android in the Northern Hemisphere will appear a little later. Customers from other countries will have access next year.
The main idea of the new digital design tool with artificial intelligence is to help customers visualize their potential purchase by placing products in one of 50 ready-made virtual salons or in their own home.
- The system uses machine learning, computational photography technology, stereo vision algorithms and three-dimensional mixed reality graphics.
- The user needs to activate the Kreativ Scene Scanner in the IKEA app and take a series of photos to create a wide-angle photocopy of the area with the correct scale and perspective. Thanks to artificial intelligence algorithms, furniture in a virtual room can be removed and replaced with items from the catalog, thus designing the future interior.
- The placed furniture can be moved and rotated in the space as you wish.
- You can save the created layout in your account and share it with your friends and family to collect ratings.
virtual rooms stored in the cloud, which gives them access from anywhere on the Internet. As a result of the virtual design, related products can be added to the cart and purchased.
It is currently unknown whether the program will be launched for Ukrainian users. IKEA entered the Ukrainian market in 2021. The first store opened on February 1, 2021 at Blockbuster Mall in Kiev. This was preceded by many years of negotiations, unsuccessful construction and the search for a new location.
