Killnet demands the removal of the barrier to the transit of goods to Kaliningrad, which was banned by the media on June 18. The day before, restrictions on the import and transit of Russian steel and other ferrous metal products into the European Union came into force. Therefore, Lithuania restricted the operation of trains with sanctioned goods. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs described Lithuania’s actions as a violation of international legal obligations and threatened retaliation. Russian cybercriminals joined the threats and posted a video message on June 25.

Successful attacks are now broadcast individually on the Killnet telegram channel.

• One claims that “the business of Lithuania’s entire online accounting department” has been disrupted, with the country’s B1 system for accounting taking the first hit.
• According to the hackers, the authorization error has rendered millions of documents inaccessible.
• It is also alleged that the “mainnet infrastructure” was hacked, leading to the blocking of electronic access to the system of government agencies.
• Another report reports an attack on the country’s tax service.

Returning to the current attacks, we can say that at least one of them – the attack on the Lithuanian tax service – was successful: the site vmi.lt is currently down.
