The rocket itself was launched from the spaceport in Florida, USA, on Thursday night, June 30, at 00:04 Kyiv time.
The SES-22 satellite, which will be operated by the Luxembourg telecommunications company SES, reached its planned orbit just 33.5 minutes after launch.
A company spokesperson said the spacecraft will transmit television and radio signals to millions of American homes and provide other important data services.
“SES-22 is expected to be operational in early August 2022,” SES said.
The launch of SES-22 is stated to be the 27th flight for SpaceX and the 161st all-time flight for the Falcon 9 launch vehicle since the beginning of the year.
As Ukrinform reports, SpaceX founder Elon Musk helped provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and satellite Internet access. He also transferred Tesla Powerwall stations to Ukraine.
