As more and more users jump between devices from both brands, and even people who have opted for a combination of both work and leisure, Google has just updated its “Switch to Android” app available in the Apple App Store to announce that will now allow and Transfer data from any iPhone to any Android smartphone running Android 12 and higher.
Available in the Apple Store from the beginning of this year, until that date, the application was limited to migrating data from a Google Pixel device, which severely limits the use of the application to a small number of users. However, Google has been designing, optimizing, and simplifying the Switch to Android app for some time to expand its compatibility, and now it has finally fulfilled those promises.
The application promises to act as a bridge between the iPhone and the Android smartphone and will allow the transfer of important user data, such as contacts and calendar entries. In addition, we can even transfer data from other applications, such as WhatsApp, and migrate the entire history of messages, photos, and voice messages from one smartphone to another.
Now every iPhone user will be able to download this free app from the App Store and start the transfer process by simply scanning the QR code from any Android mobile phone to which you want to migrate your data. After successfully scanning the QR code presented on the iPhone, the application will start transferring photos, videos, contacts and calendar events. Data can be transmitted wirelessly.
However, the use of cable significantly speeds up the transmission process. Although, of course, before the advent of standardization of a single connector for the whole of Europe, we will still need a special cable that has both Apple Lightning ports and USB type C (or microUSB).
