Airbnb, is a reference to the platforms and technologies used in the tourism sector, it can be said that the way to get accommodation anywhere in the world has changed because of this digital service that started a few years ago, but for now it has allowed all kinds of freedom. Places that have been rented.
So the complaints of the owners of this holiday property were not so small, but many noted that the places deteriorated after the inspection, it is obvious that monumental parties were held on the spot.
Given the above, one of the most famous cases was in 2018 in Spain, at the Villa Torrelodones, where a loss of more than 12,000 euros was recorded after a party attended by about 200 people and it was not a completely quiet meeting. .
Exactly that year, the scandal surrounding parties full of excesses in rented places advertised on the Internet reached its peak and became the most popular platform, Airbnb, temporarily bans unauthorized parties from the features offered on its website and in the application.
However, this was not an event that would prevent some clients from continuing the meetings, which seemed to be inspired by the ancient Roman “platforms” and, of course, without the permission of the owners.
As Airbnb’s “Project X” style party history continues, with the onset of the pandemic, tech company regulations seem to have been tightened by extending the ban on social gatherings in homes and apartments for public health reasons. Also, during the most difficult period of Covid-9, no more than 16 people were allowed in rented accommodation.
But with the return to normalcy, the seemingly forgotten rules of coexistence in dwellings and parties that got out of control reappeared.
For example, recently, in April, one of the most notorious tragedies in the media was a shooting at an Airbnb-rented apartment in Pittsburgh, USA, in which two minors were killed and eight others were killed. People were injured.
With all of this and a 44% reduction in complaints about uncontrolled parties during the pandemic, Airbnb has finally banned parties from its places of residence.
The only restriction that was lifted was a maximum limit of 16 guests per property. Because the world seems to be in danger of Covid-19, properties that have to accommodate more than that number of people, such as farms, can do so again without any problems.
However, this has not been a problem only for Airbnb as it is entirely about the social behavior of people, other platforms dedicated to renting holiday homes have experienced similar cases.
Airbnb pointed out that the penalty for organizing parties in a rented property may vary from the temporary cancellation of the account of the user who made the reservation, to the permanent veto of the platform.
According to some internet data, in 2021 more than 6600 accounts were banned due to scandals in these homes.
