LG has released an updated version of its webOS operating system for this year’s OLED, QNED Mini LED, NanoCell and UHD smart TVs. The update brought support for multiple accounts and also significantly improved the built-in browser.
The company claims that the new version of the platform has become more suitable for controlling the TV. Users can add multiple accounts allowing individual customization of the system interface. Every user not only gets quick access to favorite services and apps, but also gets personalized recommendations based on browsing history. Authorization is carried out via the built-in browser or from a smartphone using the NFC-based Magic Tap function. The last option offers a smartphone mirroring mode on the LG TV screen.
The new Always Ready technology turns LG TV into a multimedia display when not in use. It can be turned into an artistic painting, display a slide show of photos, play a clock screensaver or music. This feature is available on newer models and can be enabled/disabled from settings. With the Magic Remote, users can give voice commands to search for content or control the TV.
