On the eve of the launch of its new flagship Xiaomi 12S series, the Chinese manufacturer has announced a new FBO (File Based Optimization) data storage technology that prevents the device’s performance from degrading during the first years of use. This is reported by MyDrivers.

FBO will prevent performance degradation during prolonged use – if you believe the official tests, the read and write speed of the drive will practically not decrease even after four years (the difference is less than 1%), since the gadget will work like new.

The new technology is reportedly supported by major storage manufacturers such as Western Digital, Micron, Samsung, and SK Hynix. In addition, FBO is recognized by the Semiconductor Engineering Standardization Committee (JEDEC) and is included in the official certification of the UFS 4.0 standard for next-generation drives.

According to official data, FBO will launch on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra smartphone, which is expected to launch in early July. By the way, the read speed of his drive will be 1900 MB/s. There is no need to doubt that the new technology will be supported by the next Xiaomi smartphones (at least the flagship ones).
