Reactions to messages on Whatsapp have been a reality since May 5 this year, when Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced, although the feature only has 6 emojis in total.
Emojis indicating like, I love, amused, surprised, sad, and clapping or clapping hands; They are the only ones currently available in the messaging platform.
However, with more than 6,000 emojis available on mobile phone and computer keyboards, app developers thought it would be a good idea to let users react to whatever they want.
So the first hints of what this feature will be are already reaching beta versions of Android and iOS.
According to the WaBetaInfo portal, which is responsible for distributing the latest features and updates of WhatsApp, as well as filtering unconfirmed information, the ability to react to any emoji on the platform is already a reality in beta versions 2.22.15.6 for Android and 22.14. .0.71 for iOS.
Which is an indication that this feature will soon be available for all downloaded versions of the messaging platform. As presented in the beta version, the way to respond to messages with any emoji will be as follows:
– Press and hold the message you want to react to.
– When the 6 emojis already available appear on the screen, a gray + will appear next to them.
– By clicking + on the picture, on Android, the activated keyboard will appear in the section for adding emojis, and on iOS, a list with all emojis will appear.
According to the portal’s leak, this way emojis can be added to the reactions section, although we have to wait and see if this will add customizable, standard favorite emojis to the bar, or will show the recently used emoticons section.
In any case, so far, almost no users have access to this feature, because the beta version is very limited, so we have to wait for an official confirmation from the company.
WhatsApp, on the other hand, seems to have been very determined to bring updates and new features to its users in recent days, as just a few days ago it was revealed that the app will have avatars for video calling.
Based on the above, these 3D avatars will be customizable and will be specially designed for making video calls. In this way, not the real image of people, but a digital creation with 3D modeling would be seen.
This will be a very useful tool for those days when people are not feeling well or just don’t want to be seen on camera, so they can use this avatar to present a digital image of themselves in video calls.
And although the main purpose of these 3D symbols developed by WhatsApp is teleconferencing, they can also be used as stickers to send in individual chats or to share in groups.
Finally, these fully customizable avatars can be part of the Metaverse that Meta is developing.
