Launched this fall, the Apple Watch will have a built-in thermometer. This was reported by Bloomberg.
According to insider Mark Gurman, the Apple Watch 8, which is scheduled for release in the third quarter of the year, will be able to take the temperature of the user. A special sensor will be responsible for this function. As Gurman points out, after recording an abnormally high temperature, the device will advise the user to measure the indicator with a medical thermometer or seek medical advice with the help of a message.
The specialist believes that the American company will release two models that support this option – a flagship for professional athletes and a protected Apple Watch. The budget Apple Watch SE, which can also be announced in the fall, will not receive the temperature measurement function.
Journalists from The Verge noted that Mark Gurman first mentioned the temperature measurement function on the Apple watch in June 2021. In January 2022, the expert noted that the company will not have time to prepare this device, but said that in April the temperature sensor can be expected “already in the next generation.”
