After months of negotiations, last Friday Sony announced its new partnership and agreement with Tobii, a leading eye-tracking company, through which is implementing that company’s capabilities in its next virtual reality headsetPlayStation VR2.

While it’s clear that the inclusion of this eye tech will involve some technical changes to Sony’s device, it won’t bring any major changes from the previously teased design. However, this technology brings a lot of possibilities because it allows us to will allow us to control some elements of the games just by moving our eyes.

Tobii itself already has an application for computers (with the required use of the camera) with a collection of more than 50 games, where the possibility of testing this eye tracking function is integrated in some interesting titles such as Far Cry 6, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Microsoft Flight Simulator or F1 among others 2022.

Although for now Sony doesn’t want to reveal any specific availability date for the PlayStation VR2, The company assured a few weeks ago that the first development kits are already in the hands of some game developers and creators, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the arrival of this VR kit before the end of the yearwith a catalog that, if it already looked quite promising, now it could stand out even more.
