On the sidelines of the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference held in Lugano, Switzerland, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Kyivstar, Vodafone, Data Group Vola companies on the allocation of funds for restoration and restoration. The document was signed by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, Kyivstar heads Oleksandr Komarov, Vodafone Olga Ustinova, Data Group Vola Mykhailo Shelemba.

Three leading Ukrainian companies – Kyivstar, Vodafone, Data Group Vola – provide up to UAH 300 million, UAH 90 million and up to $ 1 million, respectively.

“This is a very important investment. It is symbolic that the first step was taken by Ukrainian companies. They will be the first investors in the digital restructuring of our state,” stressed Fedorov, thanking the telecom operators who have done incredible things by restoring networks destroyed in war conditions.

The minister hopes that foreign technology companies specializing in digital intelligence will participate in Ukrainian projects. As part of the conference, he presented the “electronic Marshall Plan”, “digital leasing”, a series of special projects that need to be done in 1-2 years to create a leading digital state.

“Digitalization is a new weapon, an important tool for the functioning of the state,” Fedorov said. He noted that Ukraine, which was still one of the world leaders in digitalization during the war, made further progress in this regard.

Fedorov believes that by 2024-25, Ukraine will become “the world’s largest digital state and the most favorable state in terms of digital services.” He added that digital leadership will help develop Ukraine’s brand in the world.

As reported, the Digital4Freedom initiative is part of the global UNITED24 platform where companies can make monetary contributions to Ukraine’s recovery.
