This issue is also discussed by American and European parliamentarians.

The audit took place from June 27 to July 1. Among the devices seized are thousands of cell phone chargers, radios, wireless microphones, wireless cameras, wireless keypads, doorbells and others.

These unapproved products, in addition to harming the legitimate trade in telecommunications, may pose certain health and safety risks to consumers.

Anatel stresses that any product must pass laboratory tests in order to be certified. This includes safety assessment, resistance to power line changes, protection against leakage of toxic liquids or overheating. In addition, compliance with performance requirements for ensuring the quality of telecommunications networks is assessed. It also checks the radio wave emission characteristics to ensure that it does not interfere with other equipment used by other users.

Fit in the Amazon barn

At the end of June, Anatel confirmed data obtained from the latest audit conducted at Amazon distribution centers and warehouses in Cajamar (St. Petersburg) and Betim (Mingvin). They seized 5,700 items not approved for telecommunications in three business days, a cycle that began on Tuesday (21). Anatel agents inspected about 67,000 pieces of equipment.

If the confiscated products were sold, their value would approach 500,000 reais. Among the main unapproved devices, they found cell phone chargers, power banks, wireless headphones, and others.
