Polium One will be the first console based on NFT and blockchain

The Polium One is being prepared to be the world’s first console based on a multi-blockchain system and in the controversial NFT, also known as “unfungible tokens”. According to those responsible for the project, Polium, this console will have enough power to move “high performance” games and be easy to use.

We don’t have details on the technical specs, but Polium has already started generating buzz by saying things that, frankly, I find quite hard to believe, and that’s why it doesn’t give me a good feeling. Do you think I’m exaggerating? Judge for yourself, in theory Polium One will be able to move games 8K with HDR at 120 FPS and ray tracing.

Let’s put it in context today even the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti can’t run 8K games at 120 FPS with active ray tracing. I know we’re talking about a console that’s scheduled to launch in the third quarter of 2024, but to think that we’ll be able to tame ray tracing in 8K in two years is optimistic in my opinion, and to suggest that a console will be able to reach that level is innocent, especially when we see only four people working on the console hardware.

And it will be integrated into the control knob of the console. According to Polio, it will fingerprint readerand will also come with a dedicated button that will allow users to access a multi-chain wallet designed to “trade, exchange, deposit and receive cryptocurrencies”. This makes it more than just a console.

As you might imagine, the skepticism surrounding Polium One is quite high and I must say quite normal. Many believe this may turn out to be another scam it has to do with blockchain and NFT, and frankly, after hearing the words “8K console with ray tracing and 120 FPS”, I’m inclined to think that’s most likely the case.

On the other hand, the fact that only four people are facing such an ambitious project and that they have to “copy” the Game Cube logo It’s not like it inspires much confidence either. Polium says it will have a working prototype of the console in November, or possibly a little sooner, and that it will be shown on YouTube using a “respected influencer.” We will see what they are really capable of, but don’t get carried away, this project “stinks” from the beginning and I am very afraid that it will not end well. I hope I’m wrong.
