Xiaomi has decided to organize the production of its equipment outside of China. Thus, in Vietnam, the assembly of smartphones of the Chinese brand began, and then they will be exported not only within the country, but also to other markets in Southeast Asia, such as Malaysia and Thailand, as reported by Nikkei Asia.

Xiaomi has entrusted the production of its smartphones in Vietnam to the Hong Kong company DBG Technology. Installation is carried out in the facility, which has a total area of ​​200,000 square meters, for which approximately 80 million dollars have been invested.

Xiaomi, which organizes the production of its smartphones in Vietnam, has several goals. First, it wants to diversify its supply chain, which is especially important in light of the novel coronavirus infection outbreak in China and the constraints imposed in connection with it. Secondly, Xiaomi wants to strengthen its position in the Vietnamese market with great growth potential. The Chinese brand is trying to catch up with the Korean company Samsung, which ranks first in smartphone sales in Vietnam.
