A few months ago, we heard rumors that Apple will not introduce the latest and greatest Bionic chip in regular iPhone 14 models this year. But what we didn’t know was that the Cupertino tech giant will continue to follow this new strategy from February. from now on.
According to renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple’s latest chips will be exclusive to high-end iPhone models like the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro. This means that the SE and “non-professional” models will not benefit from Apple’s latest chipset. If Kuo’s report is correct, “Pro” models are expected to look much better than non-professional models.
The camera system on the Pro was much better compared to the regular model, but it’s not just the camera anymore. For example, the iPhone 13 Pro comes with something that Apple calls a ProMotion display, which is a fancy way of describing a 120Hz panel that the regular iPhone 13 models don’t.
Apple hopes that the large difference between the “Pro” and “non-Pro” models will lead to more people buying a premium iPhone, which in turn will increase the average price of an iPhone. This means more profit for Apple. As Kuo points out, Apple’s new strategy will also benefit top iPhone camera suppliers.
However, the only losers will be the end user as they will now have to pay a lot more to have an iPhone on Apple’s latest chipset. Source
