At the end of June, the country of Emperor Jin Yuzhang introduced a code of ethics for influential people in the field of health. This includes those who recommend diets, teach exercise, or give advice on health issues.
One of the main established rules is to limit topics to people without training. Therefore, influential people who have not studied areas of the biological sciences such as medicine, nursing, or physical therapy cannot speak about any subject. Health regulations apply to all local social networks such as Douyin (the local version of TikTok) and WeChat in Beijing.
The rule is similar to the one that already exists in court cases such as bureaucratic issues, couples separating and child custody. To give an opinion on these topics, it is necessary to have proven legal knowledge, although it is not necessary to have a legal education.
To try to control this even more, a body equivalent to China’s Ministry of Education has certified the creation of higher courses for streamers and live commerce sellers. The purpose of the action is to discipline future influential people. In addition, it can help to suppress possible digital insurgents.
Live courses cover, for example, lighting, diction, screenplay, as well as statistics, programming, and business administration. Although the measures created by the Chinese government are a bit controversial, they help to curb fake news, false data and information that could harm society.
