In early February of this year, Google announced a new interface for Gmail, a popular webmail service. The company said at the time that the new design would make it easier for users to switch between Gmail, Google Chat, Google Spaces, and Google Meet. A few weeks after the announcement, the new Gmail interface became available to a limited number of users, but now it is finally available to everyone.

several possible ways
As you can see in the image, the new Gmail interface vaguely resembles that of Outlook.com and displays a quick access bar on the left side so that the user can quickly switch between the webmail service and other services such as Google Meet and Google Chat. The user can hover over Google Chat to start a new conversation directly from their inbox, like this:

For those who prefer to customize their experience, the Gmail support page has confirmed that it will also be possible to choose whether to display icons for accessing Google Chat and Google Meet services. To do this, you will need to click on the icon settings to display the panel quick settings on the right side and then on Personalize. This option is currently not availablebut it should be available soon.

You can return to the original interface by clicking the “Settings” icon and then the “Return to original Gmail view” link, as shown in the image below. It’s important to note that this option may be removed in the future once the new Gmail experience becomes available by default for all users of the Google Webmail service.
