If you’re a Twitter user, have you ever thought this would be a good idea? tweeting with someone else, but the social network did not have an option for it. Alternative? Mention it by prefixing it with an “@”. Soon this may be a thing of the past thanks to the arrival of new functionality.

We’re talking about “CoTweets” that will allow two accounts to be co-authors of a tweet so that it will appear tagged above them at the time of publication. Of course, not all users are available at the moment. Twitter says it’s running a first, limited-time test on some accounts.

Some CoTweets can already be found in the Twitter feed, and exactly people who can already use this functionality have explained how it works. As we have seen a Kelly Vaughn’s tweetwhile typing a message new button next to add location.

This is the CoTweet button. By pressing, the application will allow us to invite public accounts that follow us to get tagged Discuss and its content on CoTweet. If both people accept the draft message, it will be published immediately. If one of them refuses, it will be deleted.

This functionality is not entirely new. We know Twitter has been working on it for a long time. App developer Sandro Paluzzi discovered “CoTweets” (name unknown at the time) in December 2021. However, it has only now begun to reach some users.

It should be noted that although they play in completely different worlds, Instagram allows a few months to add a second author to your picture or video feed in the feed. Meta’s social network calls it “Collaborations,” and the two users’ accounts appear to be related after the content is published.
