Last year, Apple Inc. It has launched the iPad Mini 6 along with the iPhone 13 series. Recently, the device’s latest operating system, the iPad Os 15.5, seems to have been causing some problems. Following multiple concerns over Apple’s Books app, the latest iteration of Apple’s mobile operating system is currently impressing iPad users. Notably, several users reported issues with charging their iPad Mini 6 after the update.

Interested customers have reported on the Apple Support Community forums that after updating to iPadOS 15.5, they are no longer able to charge their iPad Mini 6s. These complaints indicate that the iPad battery is not charging, regardless of the power cord or adapter. Some users even tried restoring the iPad software to fix the problem, but that didn’t work.

While this may seem like a hardware issue, the root causes are software related. Apple said it is aware of users who reported being unable to charge their iPad Mini 6s after updating to iPadOS 15.5, according to an internal memo distributed to authorized service providers via MacRumors.

Unfortunately, Apple also states in the note that upgrading the iPad’s internal battery or even purchasing a new one doesn’t fix the problem, thus confirming that the charging issue is a software bug. It is currently unknown if iPad Mini 6 charging issues are resolved by the iPadOS 15.6 beta, which is currently available to developers and users who subscribe to Apple’s software beta program.

As a workaround, the company encourages employees at Apple retail stores and service providers to ask affected users to reboot their iPad Mini. As stated earlier, we are not sure that iPadOS 15.6 beta will fix this issue. However, if your iPad Mini6 is not charging properly, installing the beta version of the software on your iPad may help.

How to update iPad Mini 6 to iPadOS 15.6 beta?

  • On your iPad, go to beta.apple.com.
  • Sign in using your Apple ID.
  • Select “Get Started” on the main home page.
  • Select the ‘iPados’ tab, then select ‘register your device’.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install the profile.
  • After the profile is installed, a notification about iPadOS 15.6 will appear in the iPad update section.

After iPadOS 15.6 is officially released, tap iOS Beta Software Profile in Settings > General > VPN & Device Management to delete the profile and stop receiving iOS beta updates. The update should fix iPad Mini charging issues. Source
