Huawei CEO Richard Yu said that the sanctions had a decisive impact on the balance of power in the smartphone manufacturer market and hindered the company. “Without the intervention of the United States, Huawei and Apple could have been the world’s largest phone manufacturers,” said the company’s senior executive. Thus, the company compared itself to Apple.

Huawei also evaluated Samsung’s influence in the smartphone market – calling the company a “small manufacturer” for the Korean IT giant. According to Richard Yu, Samsung smartphones are mainly in demand in the South Korean and US markets. In the statement of the representative of the Chinese company, it is said that Huawei has surpassed Samsung and would dominate the world if it were not for the restrictions from the USA.

PhoneArena journalists realized it was wrong to call Samsung a small manufacturer, as Huawei spent years catching up with its South Korean rival.
