A few years ago there was no problem with replacing the battery: most batteries in phones were removable. But today you have to try hard to find such a device. How can you extend the “life” of the battery in a smartphone so that you do not have to replace the device every year?

Today, non-removable batteries are fully installed in smartphones so that when the battery of the old one finally fails, the owner buys a new device. Here’s what you need to do to extend battery life.

  1. Do not completely discharge the smartphone. Continuous discharge of the device to 0% is harmful. Also, just being in a discharged state will damage the phone. The maximum value at which a smartphone can be safely charged is 20%. And even if you keep your old phone for storage, sometimes you need to charge it.
  2. Do not abuse high charging currents. The fact is that the stronger the charge, the more the battery heats up and the less it will last you. To solve this problem, it is enough to use a charger that requires 2-3A. As for power, usually 18 W is enough.
  3. Do not charge a frozen battery. If you decide to charge a smartphone that suddenly “sitting” in the car in the winter and turns off in the cold, know that this is a bad idea. Charging a frozen battery will shorten its life. In this case, it is best to put the smartphone in your pocket and wait 5-10 minutes until the device thaws. The same should be done with the power bank.
  4. Avoid overheating the battery. For example, in no case should you keep the device in the sun, as it can heat the battery up to 60-70 degrees.
  5. Refuse cheap chargers. It is quite possible to use a charger with a port with 2A, but it is better to refuse a device with several ports.
