Microsoft has released a number of cumulative updates for the Windows operating system on Tuesdays (Tuesday Patch) as part of the traditional monthly update. Updates are available for “honored veterans” like the latest Windows 11, Windows 10, and even Windows 8.1 and Windows 7.

As part of Tuesday’s 2022 Patch, the company fixed 84 vulnerabilities, including four critical, that allowed attackers to trigger remote code execution. Including a zero-day vulnerability actively exploited by attackers.

The update for Windows 11 is labeled KB5015814, update KB5015807 for Windows 10 was released for versions 21H1 and 21H2, the only versions of Windows 10 Home and Pro that remain supported by the company. Here, attention was paid to fixing security vulnerabilities and bugs.

“Bugs are worked on” in Windows 8.1 (KB5015874) and Windows 7 (KB5015861). As a reminder, Windows 8.1 support will continue until early 2023, free support for Windows 7 is no longer available. Microsoft ended support for the Windows 7 operating system two years ago on January 14, 2020.

For enterprise users, Microsoft offers paid extended support for Windows 7. Users can receive security updates through the Windows 7 ESU (Extended Security Updates) program until January 2023. In 2021, the price of this service increased to $50 per computer, and in 2022 to $100 per computer. Source
