Nintendo has released a trailer and release date Bayonetta 3a new part of the familiar hack and slash from Platinum Games that if it’s still alive it’s because Big N decided to grab the saga as a publisher because it was never a big deal on a sales level and that’s why Sega ignored it after the first game was released.

Without further ado, we mention that Bayonetta 3 will be released on October 28, 2022 for Nintendo Switch, the company’s hybrid console that represented its departure from desktop platforms to focus on laptops. Looking at the success it had, it’s clear that this was a step in the right direction on the part of Nintendo, who also saved themselves from having to create two different lines of all their sagas by being able to focus their efforts on a single platform.

The new part of the adventures and battles of the witches, in the words of Nintendo, the players know “a veritable coven of Bayonettas, each one more fabulous than the last”, as they fight in places like the streets of Tokyo and the mountains of China. Another aspect to keep in mind is that users will be controlling Viola, a witch-in-training during the adventure part.

The goal, or at least what seems to be one of the main goals, is to defeat the human-made homunculi, which are man-made creatures that have emerged as a new threat to the Shadow Witches, with the help of other characters.

Bayonetta 3 will feature a Trinity Masquerade Edition with a 200-page art book and three cover sheets to match the three volumes the saga has had so far. Second, September 30 will be the physical release of the first part of the saga for Nintendo Switchwhich perhaps appears as a means of heating the environment for a third.

The good news of a definite release date aside, Bayonetta 3 has already begun to be embroiled in some controversy. For starters, the game will feature a a mode called “Innocent Angel” that adds censorship to the witch’s acts. Go ahead, it’s a game that uses its protagonist’s good body, but at no point is anything explicit shown. On the other hand, we have to put the official trailer in the link because Nintendo restricted it to people over 18so you’ll need to sign in with your Google account and possibly verify your age to view it.

The Innocent Angel mode may help Bayonetta 3 officially reach a larger audience, which could be crucial given that this is a saga that has never excelled in sales. However, placing the 18+ trailer is a bit too mundane on Nintendo’s part, especially considering that the video doesn’t show anything particularly explicit or shocking.
