The Pentagon’s Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) announced that it has successfully tested two different hypersonic missile systems.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by CNN.

The AGM-183A(ARRW) missile system passed its second successful test on Tuesday, after a series of failed tests earlier in the program.

ARRW is an Air Force system that uses a booster to accelerate a missile to hypersonic speed before launching a hypersonic glider moving towards a target at speeds in excess of Mach 5 (6,125.22 km/h).

The U.S. Air Force did not specify how fast the missile flew or how far it traveled, but said the missile had reached hypersonic speed and hit its primary and secondary targets.

DARPA added that the Pentagon conducted a successful test of the OpFires missile at the end of May. This was the first flight test of a ground-based hypersonic acceleration planning system designed to be launched from a standard military truck.

As Ukrinform reported, in mid-March, the US Air Force conducted a successful test launch of the prototype of the AGM-183A hypersonic missile.
