Another scandal erupted when the Russians discovered that the link to the Ministry of Defense website was not searchable. Roskomnadzor hastened to announce that Google was removing it on purpose, and demanded that the restrictions be lifted as soon as possible. However, it turned out that there are no restrictions.

What’s going on with Russian sites?

Later it turned out that not only the website of the Ministry of Defense disappeared. Also, the system does not give resources:

• Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
• Ministry of Justice.
• Minifigures.
• Moscow City Hall.
• Public procurement.

Google started commenting. Yes, access to these sites is not blocked, according to the company.

We have not taken any action on these web pages and are aware of the situation. […] The webpage seems to be blocking our systems and preventing it from detecting it. Therefore, the site does not appear in the search results for certain search queries,
– indicated in the company.

Thus, the developers implied that the Russian side is responsible for “hiding” the indexing of sites by the Google search engine. It’s unclear whether this was done accidentally or on purpose to “run into” Google later on.
