Again, there are quite a few profiles that do not comply with this rule, but whenever Facebook identifies them, Meta blocks the profile and asks its users to send a photo ID, DNI in the case of Spain, to prove their identity. And if necessary, he will order a name change to a name at least close to the real one.

However, all this could change, as we can read in The Verge, and it is Facebook would conduct a test that allows up to five profiles for each user. In this way, according to the social network, users could segment their Facebook activity with profiles for different purposes, such as a profile for friends, one for colleagues and another for interacting with interest groups and influencers.

Furthermore, as we can read, profiles will not need to include real identity, i.e. the user’s name, or at least part of it. You just have to follow Facebook’s rules and don’t use special characters. Besides, you can call yourself whatever you want. At this point it should be recalled that this rule has been highly controversial, even to the point of leading to legal action in Germany.

You don’t have to be particularly smart to understand that with this move Facebook is trying to recover users lost by these two rulesNow, as he continues to see his numbers slowly but inexorably drop. The question, of course, is whether this change comes in time and brings some joy to the characters of the social network, or, on the contrary, comes too late, at a time when the interest in several Facebook profiles is just a memory of the past.
