Performing detailed tests on smartphones, Golden Reviewer found that Xiaomi’s latest flagship, 12S Ultra, even surpassed the iPhone 13 Pro Max in gaming performance.

The smartphone is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, which is an enhanced version of the standard Gen 1 thanks to TSMC’s 4nm process. According to Qualcomm, this chip offers 10% higher CPU performance and 10% higher GPU clock speed than its predecessor. It also saves 30% more energy.

While running the resource-intensive Genshin Impact game, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra ran at a higher frame rate than any other top 2022 smartphone. His average FPS was 57.7. In addition, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra remained quite cold compared to other smartphones.

The only device that beat the Xiaomi 12S Ultra was the iPad Mini 6 based on the A15 processor.
