Amazon Prime Video released this Thursday (14) a new trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power. With impressive sets and mass production, Amazon is betting on recreating J. R. R. Tholien’s universe as much as possible. The first season of the show will premiere on Prime Video on September 2.

HBO Max Adds Extended Cuts of ‘Lord of the Rings’ Movies

In the trailer, we follow the elf Galadriel, played by Morfydd Clark, as she reports on the dangers that lurk in Middle-earth. The images alternate the grandiose scenarios created for the series with countless characters who will become part of the story; we see elves, dwarves, humans, and also famous hobbits.

The story will be told in 5 seasons

Amazon acquired the rights to adapt stories created by J. R. R. Tolkien in 2017. According to the company, it will be 5 seasons with over 50 hours of storyline. That is, for the first season of The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, you can count on at least 10 episodes.

The series will premiere on September 2 on Amazon Prime Video. The series will tell the stories of Middle-earth that took place before the original trilogy, as well as The Hobbit. The cast includes Morfydd Clark (His Dark Materials) as Galadriel, Owain Arthur (The Palace) as Prince Durin IV, the dwarf princess Disa played by Sophia Nomwete, Ismael Cruz Córdoba (Cancellation) to play Arondira, and Bronwyn will play Nazanin Boniadi (How I Met Your Mother, Homeland).

Expectations for the series are high from fans, and from what we’re seeing in terms of production, Amazon is committed to delivering the highest quality product. It remains to be seen if the stories told will have the quality of a narrative set in the universe imagined by Tolkien. The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power will be the most expensive series in history, with its first season alone costing around $465 million including the show’s royalties.
