Charging the phone from 0% to 100% is considered a full charge cycle. An average lithium-ion battery can normally withstand 400 to 500 cycles. Fortunately, there are ways to extend battery life.

First, you should not charge your smartphone to 100%. Yes, seeing a full battery can feel better psychologically, but you will pay for it in the end. Some Pixel and iPhone models running iOS 13 or later have features that automatically limit the charge to 80% and increase the time it takes to reach 100%.

Secondly, the battery temperature should be kept between 0 and 35 degrees Celsius while the phone is charging, performing tasks or lying idle. Therefore, for example, you should not leave your smartphone in the sun in summer. You should not charge your phone yet in bed, where it will be covered with blankets and pillows. The best place to charge the device is on a flat, hard surface. It is also not possible to cool the device quickly. The best thing is to turn off the overheating smartphone.

The “golden” rule is to never let your phone drop to 0% and then fully charge it. The best range for your smartphone battery is between 20% and 80%.
