Acer suspends operations in Russia

Taiwanese electronics and software company Acer announced that it is suspending its activities in Russia due to Russia’s war in Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, this is stated in the company’s description.

“Acer strictly adheres to existing laws and regulations regarding international trade and closely monitors the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Due to recent events, we have decided to suspend Acer’s business in Russia,” he said.

The company said it cares about the safety of its employees and hopes to restore peace in Ukraine as soon as possible.

“Our thoughts are with the people who are suffering. We also work with a number of international institutions and non-governmental organizations in the humanitarian field.” said.

As reported, in March another Taiwanese tech company ASUS announced that it is shutting down its business in Russia. This was a few days after Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov urged the company to cease cooperation with Russia in a letter to ASUS Chairman of the Board.

Many international companies announced the end of their business in Russia and withdrawal from their projects with Russian partners.
