Mobvoi is developing a new smartwatch in the TicWatch series and is looking for reviewers/testers for a model that this “about to be released” and which aims to become the benchmark for the Wear OS platform competing with Samsung and Google itself.
Samsung is the world’s leading mobile phone manufacturer and Google’s biggest Android partner. However, both have dedicated separate efforts in the wearables segment. The former opted for Tizen OS and the latter for the lack of Wear OS development. The consequences were as expected: the Apple Watch widely dominates sales.
Union makes strength and Samsung Galaxy Watch4, in addition to hardware improvements and physical activity and health tracking features, came to the market with the big news of Google’s Wear OS operating system. It really was the best model for experimenting with the platform.

New Mobvoi TicWatch
After what was considered a period of “exclusivity” between Google and Samsung to promote the platform, models from other manufacturers are arriving with Wear OS 3, the latest version of the system. One of the highlights was the Montblanc Summit 3 and now another with potential has come to light.
The new flagship Mobvoi TicWatch has five main features:
- Improved premium design, flagship model.
- Long-lasting battery.
- NFC payments compatible with Google Pay.
- IP68 waterproof, GPS, speaker and microphone
- New fatigue rating and sensor improvements.
New version points to an improved version TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra, a great model with Snapdragon Wear 4100, 1 GB of RAM and a 577 mAh battery that will offer up to 72 hours in “smart mode”. A fundamental design change is not expected, the watch would retain the two typical side buttons, no rotating crown and generously dimensioned Pro/Ultra models.
Mobvoi’s new TicWatch will have to compete with two giants, the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 and Google’s own Pixel Watch. And all of this combined prevents the Apple Watch from dominating the market by putting Wear OS where it could have been for years.
