With the update, Microsoft Word web users will be able to select the Share feature by clicking the Share button, and then add people they need to share with to review the document to send to OneDrive.
This feature is listed in the official Microsoft 365 roadmap as “Display mode for Word documents in a shared dialog”. It’s said to be “in development,” but the expected availability date is July 2022, so users won’t have to wait long.
With this feature, Microsoft Word will receive another update that will allow users to easily switch between editing, reviewing and viewing a document, bringing Word closer to the speed of its main competitor, Google Docs.
Users will now see a new Edit button on the Microsoft Word ribbon that offers three options when clicked. Enabled by default, “Edit” allows the user to make changes to the document directly, “Review” allows the user to submit changes, suggestions or comments, and “Review” allows you to view the document only. without making changes.
Meanwhile, Microsoft also recently announced that its popular predictive text feature is coming to Word on Mac soon. The Editor Text Predictions tool predicts your next words and suggests words or phrases as you type, greatly improving the typing process for slow typists.
