The Ministry of Digital Transformation does not see the need to create its own bank.
As reported by Ukrinform, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced this on Telegram.
“I’ve seen a lot of news that the Ministry of Statistics is allegedly working on its own bank. During the development of Mono, Sense, A-Bank, Sportbank there is no need for it. The state will never do anything cooler,” Fedorov wrote.
According to him, the ministry’s team is working on new fintech services that are beneficial for both the government and banks. As an example, the minister cited the sharing of electronic passports in Diya with the help of Ukrainians opening 80,000 online bank accounts on July 13 alone.
Fedorov said, “We are in favor of creating business opportunities, not competing by using monopoly access. Therefore, new fintech services, yes. We will make many more revolutionary products here.”
As reported, the Department of Statistics is preparing for beta testing of several new documents in the “Action” app.
