Artemis I launch window in August

Mission Artemis I take the spaceship Orion, unmanned, into the orbit of the moon. The goal is to test the possibilities Orion in deep space, areas with large cosmic radiation, and all operations and processes with an earth base. The rocket that launches it Space launch system (SLS) has already been tested on Earth, now is the time to test it in a real situation. Three release dates make up a 1-week window. If any misfortune happens on these three dates, SLS returned to storage and NASA will have to delay the release.

OUR Orion has a docking inlet which will be useful when NASA carry out his plan to create a station in orbit Moon, also preceding the colony on lunar soil. In June space agency published the results of the tender for the project of delivering atomic energy to the moon. Three companies (Westinghouse, IX and Lockheed Martin) will have to develop a concept that meets the tasks of the American space agency. The winners each won $5 million to develop a nuclear fission system that would power moon bases and eventually be adapted for manned missions to Mars.

Artemis Program: Humanity Returns to the Moon

O Artemis program there will be three missions. OUR Artemis 1unmanned, will serve as a test for SLS rocket and Orion spacecraftas well as testing other technologies in NASA for manned flights to lunar orbit. In May 2024 (if all goes according to plan) it will be the turn Artemis 2 to put humans into orbit around the Moon and beyond low orbit for the first time since the last Apollo mission in 1972. OUR Artemis 3 should happen in 2025 and finally land with people on Moon53 years since the last visit to the natural satellite.
