Currently it is possible to enter the site, but it is completely empty. There is only an announcement that the internet television service has been terminated. It is not possible to open a new account there.
What is known about Oll.tv
This is a resource that is part of the media holding owned by the Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov – “Ukrainian Media Group”. This holding also:
8 television channels;
full cycle media agency;
satellite broadcasting operator;
2 production companies;
multimedia news platform – website and broadcast;
cross-platform regional news project.
Was Oll.tv profitable?
Forbes reported in May 2020 that the Big Data UA consulting firm estimated the number of Oll.tv users at 200,000. However, as of June 2022, the number was already around 50,000 fewer.
Big Data founder Serhii Boyko pointed out that unlike his two main competitors, Akhmetov’s stream is stagnant in terms of audience expansion. According to the expert, in 2017-2020 Oll.tv was on the verge of unprofitability. He stressed that this is evidenced by data from the analytical service YouControl.
What Oll.tv offers to users
In total, 150 foreign and Ukrainian TV channels were collected for streaming. In addition, paid subscription owners had the opportunity to watch more than 15 thousand different movies and series there.
Also, many people have purchased access to the service to watch football and other sports broadcasts. Before the full-scale invasion of Oll.tv, they planned to bet on their own series. “Exclusive content is exactly what the platform was created for. It’s a global model,” editor-in-chief Yuliya Tribushna said in an interview with “Detector Media”. However, only 1 special was released on the service.
By the way, the Ministry of Justice reported that Akhmetov is almost no longer an oligarch: watch the video
