Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov gave information about the new sanctions against the Russian Federation from technology companies.
This was stated on the Telegram channel, Ukrinform reported.
Specifically, the CEO of the IT company EPAM Systems Inc. In a letter to employees, Arkady Dobkin said that the company was leaving Russia and suspending all operations in the country. “In line with the business continuity plans that the company put in place in February 2022, EPAM is accelerating the relocation of its operations to Russia through active relocation of employees. Currently, a significant number of employees have already left the country,” he said.
At the same time, Fedorov states that EPAM plans to continue working in Belarus, as well as increase its staff in Europe, Central Asia, India and Latin America. Earlier, on March 4, the company announced the termination of service to Russian customers.
According to the official, Canadian EarthDaily Analytics is shutting down its operations in Russia, including the closure of an office in Moscow. The company also terminated a development contract with the Russian Earth observation company TerraTech. EarthDaily Analytics studies and analyzes data through the Geosys platform, which is especially essential for agricultural companies and farmers.
Fedorov noted that in accordance with Worldline Ingenico’s corporate policy, it immediately implemented all international sanctions against Russia and will continue to apply them as long as necessary.
As previously reported, Acer said it is suspending its operations in Russia.
On February 24, Russian President Putin announced the launch of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, where Russian troops bombed and destroyed the main infrastructure and heavily bombed residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
Since the early days of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the United States, its allies and partners have imposed tough sanctions on the Russian economy as well as export restrictions. Many companies announced the end of business in Russia and withdrawal from projects with Russian partners.
