As reported by Ukrinform, New Atlas reported this.
It is noted that the aircraft itself has a wingspan of 25 m, at the same time its weight is less than 75 kg. The drone also has the ability to climb to a height of 21.3 km.
The device was launched on June 15 at the Yuma test site in Arizona, USA, and is still in the air. Thus, it has already passed the 36-day mark in the air without refueling.
The previous record for the longest unfueled flight was broken in 2018 with 25 days, 23 hours and 57 minutes.
The Zephyr will still have to land soon, not because it’s out of power, but because another test is planned over the Pacific Ocean in the next few weeks.
As Ukrinform reports, the American company Amazon has announced that it plans to start delivering ordered packages with drones soon.
