Google has partnered with iFixit to launch its self-healing program. As part of this, the tech giant will offer spare parts for its devices.
This program should make it easy for the average buyer to purchase Pixel smartphone repair parts if it breaks. Parts such as batteries, displays and cameras will be available for purchase in the US, Canada, Australia, UK and other European countries where the phones are sold. The program will be launched “later this year”.
Replacement parts will be available for almost all Pixel models, including the latest Pixel 6. You can buy parts for the old Pixel 2.
Previously, a similar partnership with iFixit was signed by Samsung. However, spare parts will only be available for devices released in 2020 under the South Korean manufacturer’s program (Galaxy S20).
