Razer has announced the launch of the DeathStalker V2, the second generation of its line of gaming keyboards that stand out performance manufacturer of optical switches, but in a low profile which together with the wireless connection enable a clean and tidy area.
Razer will launch the series in three different versions, DeathStalker V2 Pro, DeathStalker V2 Pro Tenkeyless and DeathStalker V2. All are based on aluminum construction, have laser-engraved keys and an ultra-durable coating to extend their life.
Of course, the keys are the star of any keyboard worth their salt, and we have to emphasize here Razer’s new low-profile optical switches which promise record-breaking activation speed for this type of design, using an infrared light beam to register keystrokes, eliminating bounce delays with each press while offering a more comfortable and sharper typing experience.
Optical switches are available in two versions, silent linear and audible click. The quietest version has a trigger point of just 1.2 mm, a total stroke of 2.8 mm and an actuation force of 45 grams. The loud variant has a 1.5 mm actuation point with tactile and audio feedback, a distance of 2.8 mm and an actuation force of 50 grams. Razer claims they’ve been tested for a life cycle of 70 million keystrokes, the most in the industry for a low-profile keyboard.
All keyboards in the Razer DeathStalker V2 range are fully compatible with Razer Synapse 3 for full customization, up to 16.8 million colors via Razer Chroma RGB, whose values can be stored in hybrid integrated memory to save user settings/profile when the keyboard is used outside of its primary location.
Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro
It is the top of the line and has Razer HyperSpeedWireless, high-speed wireless technology which uses a combination of optimized data protocol, ultra-fast radio frequency and adaptive frequency technology that scans available frequencies and uses channels without interference to provide a fast, stable and reliable wireless connection.
It can be connected to a compatible wireless mouse thanks to the HyperSpeed wireless dongle for greater freedom and convenience of use while maintaining minimal latency. It has connectivity Bluetooth 5.0, with the possibility of connecting up to 3 devices at the same time, without the need to re-pair between devices, switching between them by pressing a button. This system is also available in a Tenkeyless version, and Razer promises up to 40/50 hours of battery life for both models.
For those who prefer to use a wired connection, both have USB Type-C connectors that can be inserted and removed when needed, for example to charge batteries. As for the basic version, the DeathStalker V2 offers users the same functionality and speed as the DeathStalker V2 Pro, but without the wireless connection.
