According to CRC, the average earnings per minute in the last quarter of 2021 was $15.9, representing a 1.3% increase compared to the fourth quarter of 2020. On the other hand, the average revenue per user was $8,031 and represented a decrease. 21.8% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

Average traffic per subscriber figures show that it was 505 minutes in the fourth quarter of 2021, which is a decrease of 22.8% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

“These reports, which we publish on our open data portal, result from the ICT market monitoring process carried out by the CRC and are another available decision-making tool. With these figures, it is clear that the mobile voice service maintains a significant presence in the sector with stable behavior and sustained demand for the service,” said Paola Bonilla Castano, CEO of the Communications Regulatory Commission.

Mobile network operators in Colombia include Claro, Movistar, Tigo, Avantel, ETB and WOM; And virtual mobile operators present in the country are Virgin, Logística Flash, Almacenes Éxito, Suma Móvil and Setroc.

Montería, Cartagena and Barranquilla presented the highest average download speeds for 2021; 22.6 Mbps, 22.2 Mbps and 21.2 Mbps respectively. It should be noted that Tigo is the leader in the coastal zone of Colombia.
